That’s right I’m talking early 60s and 50s, talking about SS Camaro, and matching number GTOS, were talking about those motors that made your heart jump out of your chest when they lopped at the line. Those motors that could mistake a stock car for a massage parlor as each stroke of the pistons and rod sent shock waves through the air that could be felt outside the car.

From North Augusta, SC Scott Weaver brings us a nasty mix with his bagged thumper, a Fully restored Oldsmobile with a bored out 455 breathing on Edelbrock aluminum heads and sitting on clouds with a dual tank Air ride system. What better way to display then to lay frame knowing your sitting on 450 horses of pure American muscle being transferred through a 2speed power glide that’s snapping at a 3.73 ratio dif. The sound that leaves the Flow master tips funneled from the Hooker headers is as graceful as a heavy metal jam but there is some sort of piece that one finds listening to each lope.

Scott tells us that he was fortunate to have come across this car last year after meeting Mick Howard at extreme Auto gallery in Marshall, MO. A big shout out to Howard coming from a small race shop in Wichita, KS for the nice laundry lists for the build of this motor. Scott’s car is a part of history, not because of it being his car but what it stands for what came out the development of car of its time.

While the event was going Kyle Mohan and Joon Maeng were more than welcoming letting us hang out with them at their booths. Both of them finish in the Sweet 16 at Road Atlanta. The 2012 Formula Drift Champion Daigo Saito proved why he was the champion taking first place in the Road to the Championship.

Now onto the Slammed Society show and some sexy ladies
The Slammed Society show put on by Fatlace took place this year after being cancelled last year with a lot of great entries. A huge showing by Insane Stance and Offset represented very well along with other local team like Team Kaizen International, InfinitiATL and Dynasty Car Club and other out of town cars.  Although the turn out was great there was some rain and the judging for some categories seemed out of place being that it’s a slammed show. A good time was had by all otherwise seeing the different builds out there and the work being put in.

While trying to write this feature I kept thinking about how much controversy there will be around it. For most people a Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution is a thoroughbred rally star that should be smashing its way up Pikes Peak, not airing out in a parking lot. I used to be of this school of thought, until I saw Jeff’s car.

This car blends function and form perfectly. Yes I said it, perfectly. The custom purple paint changes up the look without being overly flashy. Meanwhile the aggressive Canards and Varis kit add a more aggressive look to the bumper and skirts, while an APR carbon splitter keeps the front down low. Out back an OEM diffuser and shaved trunk round off this car’s beyond aggressive look.

Jeff’s Evo gets low courtesy of K-Sport coilovers with a bag on coil setup, allowing him to air down at shows and meets while letting him avoid all of the nasty dips and bumps on LA roads, which he has to with this car being daily driven. Let that sink in for a second, Jeff drives this every single day all around LA. Not bad right?

This Evo isn’t all show though, with an ETS front mount and AMS turboback exhaust keeping the intake charge cool and making sure the exhaust gas has somewhere to go. A Cobb Accessport ties together all the engine modifications making sure boost and air/fuel ratio stay where they need to be.

Now for the wheels and brake setup. Jeff’s car rolls around on Varrstoen VS3s in 18×10.5 with massive Brembo Stage 1 calipers and drilled rotors peeking out from behind the wheels. Seriously these brakes are huge and fit the car great while continuing the aggressive track-inspired theme.

I didn’t have too much of an opportunity to discuss Jeff’s future plans for this car but definitely pay attention to this build, definitely big things coming.

Why have a Mitsubishi Day?? Because it’s Awesome.

The crowd was filled at the Mitsubishi Dealership in Fairfax, VA with mostly Evo’s which shouldn’t be surprise. The aggressive look plus the power to match just makes for one beautiful ride.

Very rarely if ever do we ever see a modified 4th gen Eclipse but when this black one rolled up our mouths drop. The amount of effort put into this ride built the reputation of  the Eclipse it once had.

Mile High Fever strikes again this time in the city of Westminster, CO. CUSCC or known as Colorado Unlimited Sport Car Club host one of the baddest meets there is in the Rockies. 

Gear heads from all over the State and neighboring ones also rounded up to show what Colorado rides are made of. Exotics, Muscle, Imports and Various other rides were in attendance in this 800+ exciting filled day. Every year this event takes place the crowd grows larger and larger each year starting of 6 years ago with 60 people in attendance. 

The rigorous terrain doesn’t stop the Slammed life from repping out here as you can see.  With the region how it is. It’s not surprise you see Track Cars Ready for the upcoming Pikes Peak International Hill Climb in June.

With the last set of Rotary’s coming to an end next month we take a look at one that has been UNLEASHED in the streets on Charlotte, NC.

This day and age it’s hard to find a Rx-8 of this caliper let alone one with a Rotoary engine… Note: Most people are Swapping the engines with the Chevy LS motor’s.  Jose on the other hand decided to go the more traditional route and knows modifying rotory’s are quite an easy task if done correctly.  With the passion of racing burns inside Jose and like any speed demon knows that a ride must have that balance of performance. The Renesis engine has difficulties keeping up with today’s performance vehicles so the installation of his Greddy turbo kit provides the much needed power that this ride has been longing for. 

It’s already a difficult task to make a car that is a hard top convertible look decent let alone one of a kind, however Lee is surely not one to back down from a challenge. Let’s not forget as a member of the Atlanta G’s crew you have to step correct when you’re surrounded by GA’s sickest G’s to hit the streets.

Outside of the drop top G37 Lee is known for his mastery behind the lens, anyone can take photos but it takes dedication to learn the new tips and tricks as well as coming up with your own style to set you apart from every other photo kid. After all, when you are a part of  Team Kaizen International your skills better be cream of the crop with the weight their name carries in the ATL and Southeast area.

But enough about the master mind. Let’s get back to the machine. Don’t let the subtle looks fool you as you can find this G37 on the mountain runs with the awesome guys in the  Z Atlanta crew doing what it was meant to.
To set the car apart, aside from being a vert,  Lee added the right touch of every car enthusiast’s favorite molecule, Carbon Fiber.  He didn’t go overboard but a quick look at the aero will reveal half covered carbon bits from AutoKits X and the well known Status Elite brand that gives the car a factory option look without compromising the body lines of the G.

The last and I assure you most important part of any car’s appearance and stature is its stance. Lowered via a set of H&R vert springs front and Eibach coupe springs back on some lovely Concept One Executive Wheels CS 5.0 20 inch, 9F 245/30/20 ET25 10.5R 275/30/20 ET27. This g is sure to stay at the forefront of your memory whenever thinking about ATL’s finest. Lee has been a big contribution to the awesome sauce family; we look forward to what he will come out with next.
